We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Manager to play a key role in supporting our business growth while managing financial risk. Reporting to the Controller, the Credit Manager oversees the full credit lifecycle, including customer credit evaluation, credit approvals, risk assessment, and ongoing assessment of customer payment activity and risk exposure. The role is responsible for assessing customer creditworthiness, managing collections, and partnering closely with internal teams to resolve payment issues while maintaining strong customer relationships.

This role offers a unique opportunity to balance analytical decision-making with collaboration, helping the business grow responsibly while safeguarding cash flow and minimizing credit risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and approve customer credit limits in line with company policies while supporting responsible business growth.
  • Assess new credit applications and monitor customer creditworthiness to effectively manage risk.
  • Analyze financial statements and credit data to determine appropriate credit terms and exposure levels.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to maintain healthy accounts and minimize past-due balances.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve billing issues and facilitate timely payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, cash flow, and credit performance to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Identify and manage high-risk or doubtful accounts and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Strategically document customer interactions and recommended actions in the CRM system to support compliant recordkeeping and coordinated action plans across teams
  • Contribute to reporting, reconciliations, and financial documentation to support sound credit and AR processes.
  • Identify and support process improvements and initiatives that modernize credit and collections operations, strengthen financial processes, and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
  • Participate in and contribute to industry trade credit groups, networking with peers and staying up to date with best practices.

COMPÉTENCES

Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is considered an asset; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered. CIC membership or CCP designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Credit & Collection Management role, preferably in a B2B environment, with demonstrated experience approving credit limits & terms, as well as managing credit risk exposure 
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office and experience using business systems such as ERP, CRM, or business intelligence platforms (e.g., Oracle, Cognos, Power BI, Monday.com or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and ensure accuracy in financial analysis and decision-making
  • Solid analytical judgment in assessing financial risk and creditworthiness, with a sound understanding of legal agreements governing credit and collections
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, and Distribution, to support business objectives
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (a few times per year) to attend industry trade events and visit customer accounts.
